LOCPOD 200 is composed of Cefpodoxime Proxetil Dispersible Tablet. This medication is useful in the treatment of bacterial infection and thus acts as an antibiotic medication.

Cefpodoxime belongs to the class of cephalosporin antibiotics. It works by inhibiting the growth of bacteria inside the body and thereby kills the bacteria inside the body. Whereas Proxetil acts by preventing the bacterias from forming a protective layer that restricts the action of cefpodoxime in killing the bacterias. Thus the two compounds together form an effective formulation to fight against bacterial infections.

This medication is effective in the treatment of bacterial infections such as bronchitis, pneumonia, gonorrhea, sinusitis, urinary tract infections, infections of the ear, nose, skin, tonsils, etc. Cefpodoxime Proxetil Dispersible Tablet prevents the bacteria inside the body from multiplying and thus kills the existing ones and helps in the removal of these bacteria from the body.
